Human first, tech second

For many growing businesses, along with a list of achievements, there’s a sense that they must position themselves in a certain way. It’s very corporate, filled with business speak, and in our industry, IT jargon. That’s understandable. Companies want to prove they’re up to the job, capable of solving the tech issues that hold businesses back. They want to bang on about cyber threats, security, service and collaboration while proving they can set up unbreakable comms between Paris, the Philippines and every one of your 107 remote workers.

Maybe they can, but so can many others. The tech that delivers those things is, after all, only a tool. It’s people that make a business. We sum up our approach as human first, tech second. It’s not that the tech isn’t important – it is – but it’s what you want it to do that’s our primary concern.

That’s why, when we’re talking to you, our conversation, won’t be about the processors, protocols or the pristine circuitry. It’ll be about your challenges: the sensitivity of your customer data, the need for your staff to be able to get online on a mountaintop or the issue you’re having sharing drafts of documents.

And when we know what you need, we’ll employ another of our core values.

We’ll offer you the right solution, not the easy one, or the one that will look best on our bottom line, but the one that will work best for you.

But of course, you’ll want to know who you’re dealing with. Instead of blurb about a passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated team – we’ve got one, by the way – here’s Daniel. His specialism is bringing straightforward thinking to complex problems. He wants to take away your pain and frustration, and nothing makes him happier than a referral from a satisfied client. Peter, meanwhile, has a different skill set. He knows the value of a productive conversation and loves to build relationships with clients. By getting into the detail, understanding what drives you, and respecting your values, Peter becomes your partner for the good times and the tricky ones too.

A couple of intros can’t do justice to the Lantech team, but it’s a start, and here’s a potted history.

We were founded in 2008 in Rathmines, and steady growth has followed:

  • By 2011, we were travelling all over Europe deploying complex network solutions.

  • By 2018 Lantech, had contracts with large US tech firms, Irish state bodies, international hospitality groups, and professional services clients. In addition to providing managed IT services and risk mitigation consultancy, we joined a top-tier global peer group to further drive business maturity and benchmarking.

  • In 2019 we launched dedicated Disaster Recovery and Cyber Security divisions. Just one year later, during the pandemic, we launched a Cloud Enablement Department which has helped migrating businesses reduce costs by 25% while improving productivity and performance.

  • In 2021, we celebrated the ConnectWise award for best-in-class growth, and with a current staff of 17, we remain determined to be best-in-class across the board – in service, account management, integration and operations.

  • December 2022  - Finalist - Network Group Awards.

  • January 2023 - Superops – Winner - Customer Experience Champion of the year.

  • February 2023 - Women in tech - over a quarter of the Lantech workforce now female.

  • March  2023 - Lantech IT Services celebrates 15 years partnership with Leinster Rugby.

  • March 2023 - Shortlist – IT Support company of the year – CIO/CTO Awards. 

We could tell you many facts and figures to back up our credentials, but one stands out: client retention. Some of our clients have been with us since day one. We have a client retention rate of 99%. We’d like it to be 100. We’ve got enough sense to know that nobody’s perfect, but we’re working on it.
